Western blot analysis of Akt phosphorylation in a Gaucher cell model. A Gaucher cell phenotype was induced in THP-1 macrophages with conduritol B epoxide as described previously [8]. Cells were stimulated for 5 minutes with 1 μg/ml heparinase (Sigma), extracts prepared and probed for the phosphorylated form of Akt (Ser473) (top panel) and total Akt (bottom panel). Antibodies were purchased from Cell Signaling Technology.
