Palmitate-induced CCTα expression is dependent on XBP-1 in RAW 264.7 cells. Cells were transfected with control or XBP-1 siRNA. After 48 h transfection, the transfected cells were treated with 400 μM palmitate for 24 h. CCTα expression at the mRNA level was determined by quantitative real time RT-PCR (a) and at the protein level by western blot analysis (b). Similar results were observed in three independent experiments. *P < 0.01 versus non-treated control cells
