Sodium butyrate induced apoptosis in breast cancer cells. Cells were treated with 1, 5 and 10 mM of sodium butyrate for 48 h and apoptosis was detected by annexin-V and PI staining and analyzed by flow cytometry for MCF-7 (a), MDA-MB-468 (b) and MCF-10A (c). A significant increase in the percentages of early apoptotic cells were detected in both cells. Data represent Mean ± SD of three separate experiments. . Statistical differences between different groups were analyzed by ANOVA (* = P < 0.05, ** = P < 0.01, *** = P < 0.001)
