Effects of naturally occurring phytanic acid (nPA) on interferon (IFN)-γ production and T-bet expression in mouse splenocytes. a Mouse splenocytes were incubated with palmitic acid or nPA, followed by an Alamar blue assay to determine cell viability. After incubation of phytohaemagglutinin (PHA)-stimulated splenocytes with palmitic acid or nPA, the concentrations of IFN-γ in culture supernatants (b), and mRNA expression of IFN-γ (c) and T-bet (d) were measured by ELISA and qRT-PCR, respectively. e Expression of IFN-γ mRNA was determined after PHA-stimulated splenocytes were incubated with nPA-bovine serum albumin (BSA) conjugate.
