Bars indicate the age coefficient, representing the expected change in standardized lipid intensity for a one-year increase in age, from separate linear regression models for males (blue) and females (red). Only lipid species with significant age*sex interaction effects from the overall analyses (see Table 4) are analyzed in these stratified models. Lipid species are grouped by class for ease of presentation (panel A: glycerolipids, panel B: glycerophospholipids, panel C: sphingolipids, panel D: sterol lipids); within each class, lipids are ordered by size of the age*sex interaction effect (see Table 4). Lipids denoted A and B designate resolved cis/trans stereoisomers
