The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves of the Friedewald equation and the Sampson equation to measure direct LDL-C levels in patients with ACS. The area under ROC curves (AUCs) of the Sampson equation performed better than Friedewald Eq. (0.968 vs. 0.951; P < 0.001). The sensitivity of the Sampson equation was 87.3% and the specificity was 94.1%
