  1. SMD, standard maintenance diet; HFD, high-fat diet; values represent mean values with standard deviation in parenthesis of B6 on SMD (n = 15), BFMI on SMD (n = 11), and BFMI on HFD (n = 12). Serum parameters were obtained after a fasting period of two hours (BFMI on SMD (n = 8), BFMI on HFD (n = 8), and B6 (n = 12)). Asterisks indicate significant differences between BFMI860 and B6. Except for cholesterol all values were significantly different between B6 and BFMI mice on SMD. + indicates significant differences between standard maintenance and high-fat diet within line BFMI860 (P < 0.05).
