  1. Lipids were extracted from 4 combined ear biopsies (20 mg tissue), PL and NL separated on silica columns, methylated, and analyzed by gas chromatography. Values represent the mean of 1 pooled replicate (duplicate gas chromatographic analysis). Control ME mixture consists of safflower/sunflower/apricot (43:2:50, by vol); P. nagi refers to the ME mixture derived from a gymnosperm seed oil described in the text.
