  1. NZW rabbits (n = 10/group) were maintained on a diet of chow supplemented with 0.2% (w/w) cholesterol for 6 weeks On days 3 and 5 of the last week of dietary supplementation the animals received two infusions of saline, rHDL (8 mg/kg apoA-I) or ETC-642 (30 mg/kg peptide). Blood samples were collected at baseline and at sacrifice and plasma lipid levels were measured as described in "Materials and Methods". Results are expressed as mean ± SEM. * p < 0.05 compared to baseline.
