Associations between HSD11B1 expression and individual fatty acids in VAT. Correlations between HSD11B1 expression and FA-composition in the VAT are illustrated in scatterplots. Total SFA (rho = 0.39 and P = 0.006) and MUFA (rho = −0.38 and P = 0.007) together with the individual SFAs 14:0 (rho = 0.34 and P = 0.025) 16:0 (rho = 0.31 and P = 0.039) and 18:0 (rho = 0.30 and P = 0.049) correlated with HSD11B1 expression.
